A mother and her two children lived with a decomposing corpse on their only toilet for close to two months. On the advice of the mother's spiritual leader they were told to pray for the corpse to come back to life. If this happened in Michigan it just might be one of the few instances where the Friend of the Court might make a recommendation in the father's favor for child custody. All jokes aside that attempt to drive a point about the significant gender bias in Michigan's child custody cases - this is one sick momma.
The mother told the children that if they were discovered that the children would have to get jobs and go to public schools because the "grandmother" paid all the bills. Praying near the toilet for "grandma" to come back to life would somehow bring her back to life. Here is a thought for mom - GET A JOB and stop expecting handouts!
The damage to the children will be permanent. How could anyone recover from witnessing something this awful? Tammy Lewis and the so called spiritual leader are being held in jail for felony charges of child abuse. Why was this not caught sooner? What warning signs could have been caught in order to help the children?
