Dedicated to Richmond Elihu Smith. To Minister Ronald Smith of Children Need Both Parents, Inc - your family is in our constant thoughts and prayers.

At 8:33pm on April 27th my son Richmond Elihu Smith passed.  He made a peaceful transition and has added fervor to my fight to put an end to the senseless medication of our children and parental alienation.  I thank you all for your prayers and it is now time to stop asking for our rights as parents to be recognized and begin demanding that our God given fundamental rights as parents to be recognized at all cost. His death will not be in vain.

Ode To Richmond
By Ronald Smith

Bluish green in color he entered this world
Just before I cut his umbilical cord.
Happy with spirit and energy was he,
The school says, “there’s a problem"
Must be ADHD.
Ritalin is the answer...IT SURELY MUST BE.
It took away his spirit, his energy, his glee
Made him very stoic, much like an elm tree.
The one thing that we did not expect,
The drug had a very ugly major negative side effect.
Twenty years old, Richmond is fighting for his life
With tumors in his liver he is fighting with all his might.
My child's condition, I can't bear the thought,
When the doctor prescribed it
This effect was not taught. If your child
Has spirit, don't kill them with drugs,
Instead of Ritalin give praises and hugs.

Robert R. Parker Jr. files a $66 million dollar federal lawsuit against the Michigan FOC, Mike Cox and more.

The Flint Journal reports that Robert J. Parker Jr filed a $66 million dollar federal lawsuit against the Michigan Genesse County Friend of the Court, Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox and FOC Jennie Barkey who is now a county probate judge.

I would do the same!

The Michigan Genesse County Friend of the Court pursued Mr. Parker for 20 years for past due child support he did not owe.  After being located and jailed he fought back and WON in the State Court of Appeals.  Now he is suing for damages in the Federal Court system.

Is there really this type of corruption in the Friend of the Courts systems throughout the country?

Will this video help clarify things - Corruption  Or visit the movie Support?  System Down

Or maybe read Carol Rhodes book "Friend of the Court Enemy of the Family"

Or read the book "The Multiple Scandals of Child Support"

Or read Phyllis Schlafly's "Federal Incentives Make Children Fatherless"

And if that is not enough - CPR's "Welfare for the Affluent" and commentary from the nation's top expert on Title IV-D - Lary Holland

And for a final brush up on Title IV-D corruption you can view the Family Rights Coalition's Title IV-D presentation.

Have fun and play the "follow the corrupt money flow of Title IV-D" game as a final exam of your knowledge of Title IV-D.

There are also class action lawsuits forming across the entire country because of this corruption - link

Many more fathers and non-custodial mothers need to be patriots such as Mr. Parker Jr.  Please also visit the Nationwide Blueprint for Title IV-D Reform.  Profiting on the destruction of families is immoral.  A Child's Right is EQUAL time with BOTH fit parents!  Angela Pedersen, R.N.

Michigan House Bill 4564

Download 2007_hib_45641.pdf  was introduced last week by Rep. Steil along with a 21 additional sponsors!  That's right 21 additional sponsors!  Those who have a vested interest in seeing children ripped apart from a loving and fit parent will be against this bill.

Excellent commentary on Michigan House Bill 4564:   HB 4564

Michigan Bill Offers Solution to Family Ills   HB 4564

James Semerad and Dr. Stephen Baskerville     HB 4564

"We have too many children in poverty in this country," says Barack Obama. Hillary Clinton recently kicked off her own campaign by surrounding herself with her trademark visual: children. Nancy Pelosi took over the House Speakership also surrounded with children, and Barbara Boxer recently got into the act. Perhaps most provocative is a California assemblywoman’s recent proposal to criminalize spanking.  HB 4564

What "children" are for the Democrats, "the family" is for Republicans. Senator Sam Brownback has perhaps the foremost claim to be the "family values" candidate. But so far Brownback’s idea of preserving the family appears limited to opposing same-sex marriage. Hardly a stance to set him apart from the Republican herd. Michigan House Bill 4564

There is nothing new about politicians kissing babies. But politicizing children is a newer development.  Michigan House Bill 4564

Children and families have figured prominently in every election since the early 1990s. There is good reason for this; the decline of the family and the poverty of children continue unabated. The National Center for Health Statistics recently reported that, despite ten years of welfare reform, out-of-wedlock births are at a record high. A recent survey, The Changing Shape of the American Family, found that "Nearly nine in ten (88%) of U.S. adults say divorce has a negative impact on maintaining a stable American family life." (By contrast, only 53% feel that way about same-sex couples.) And a study just released by UNICEF ranked the top 21 wealthiest countries in the world on their children’s well being. The United States received the second worst ranking (20 out of 21), citing divorce and the number of children being raised in single-parent households as major risk factors.

While all candidates are willing to mouth platitudes that secure their base, none has shown the courage to tackle the difficult, perennial ills that afflict the family and children, like divorce and fatherlessness.

Some 24 million children in the United States now live without one of their biological parents. Virtually every social pathology of our time – from violent crime to substance abuse to truancy – correlates more strongly to fatherless homes than to any other single factor, surpassing poverty and race. According to the National Fatherhood Initiative, "Children who live absent their biological fathers are, on average, at least two to three times more likely to be poor, to use drugs, to experience educational, health, emotional, and behavioral problems, to be victims of child abuse, and to engage in criminal behavior than those who live with their married, biological (or adoptive) parents."

Yet the responses by both the Clinton and Bush administrations to this perennial dilemma have been weak. Questionable programs to "promote fatherhood" and "healthy marriage" have left both parties open to the charge of "throwing money at the problem."

A simpler and less costly alternative here in Michigan and other states offers a solution to this seemingly intractable problem. The bill costs taxpayers nothing and in fact will save billions that governments now spend on these social ills. HB 4564, introduced by Rep. Steil will provide for shared parenting in the event of divorce or parental separation. This would allow children to have the love and care of both parents in their lives, regardless of their marital status.

The ugly custody battles that now fill the newspapers and talk shows would become largely a thing of the past with a presumption of equal time between both parents. It is the adversarial litigation approach, with its winner-take-all mentality of resolving family disputes, that inflames the conflict and turns children into weapons. A rebuttal presumption of shared parenting will de-escalate the conflict and result in a win-win situation not only for parents but for children and society and taxpayers as well.

The vast majority of Americans favor such an approach. In Massachusetts, 85 percent of voters approved a non-binding shared parenting referendum in 2004. In the last election, North Dakota voters narrowly missed enacting a binding referendum only because of massive spending by bar associations, who profit from our belligerent, out-of-control divorce system.  HB 4564

At a time when spending programs by both Republicans and Democrats have failed to reverse this destructive trend, a common-sense measure, supported by both parties and the people of Michigan and America, should at least be allowed a full debate and a vote by the people’s representatives.

One year out from publishing book!

I have received several emails inquiring about when my book will be finally published.  We are roughly one year away from it being published.  I want to make sure it is perfect.  We do have connections with a publisher but we are also considering "print on demand" services such as those provided through Amazon.com.

This will be an incredible book filled with the struggles so many of us face.  Thanks a ton for all of the inquiries!  I rarely have time to work on it with everything else going on.  10 minutes here and there.  I promise it will be solid and a great read.  ALL proceeds will be donated to two non-profit organizations of our choice.  Thus, there will be no net gain by our organization whatsoever.  Title will be released soon!  This book will be dedicated to my amazing son and daughter.

Robert Pedersen and Rob MacKenzie Bicycle Trek from Lansing MI to Washington DC

We need your help for this to be a success!

Robert Pedersen and Rob MacKenzie will be bicycling over 600+ miles in support of a child's right to EQUAL time with BOTH fit parents!

This is by no means an easy trek to complete.  There are many dangers.  The massive hills in PA will make their legs feel like Jello.  Heat, possible dehydration, vehicle traffic, physical injuries and more possible dangers make this one intense and brutal trek.

We need your support today!  Please contact admin@achildsright.net to request information on possible donations or supplies that will be needed.  This is a massive undertaking and it will not be successful without your much needed assistance!

Robert and Rob on the upcoming 600 mile bicycle trek:

Robert -

"I have chosen to do this for all of Michigan's children who are denied EQUAL time with BOTH fit parents.  The main reason for doing this is to to also send a clear message [someday] to my two amazing children that I have ALWAYS desired EQUAL time with them and that I recognize their need to have EQUAL time with their daddy. I see the pain they are experiencing and it rips me apart far worse than this bicycle trek ever will.  There will be no doubt in their minds that I did request and "fought" for EQUAL time with them.  My love, for my son and daughter, will fuel the much needed energy and stamina to make it all the way to D.C."

Rob -

"People often times ask me how terrible the pain was from last year when I rode solo from Lansing to D.C.  I tell them nothing is more painful than being torn away from your child.  Nothing is more painful than seeing your child suffer as well.  I told Pedersen that this bike trek is an experience that he will never forget!"

---

This will be a massive undertaking that will certainly gain media attention.  There will be hundreds of press releases going out all over the country for this event.  We are already aware of definite Michigan Media coverage and we hope to obtain national media coverage.

There will be a dedicated website leading up to the event.  Visitors will also be able to watch Robert and Rob in real-time via GPS and video.  Numerous pictures will be uploaded during the bicycle trek.  We have a dedicated media and supply van that will be trailing the riders through the entire 600 + mile trek.

Imagine pedaling over 600+ miles to be greeted by thousands at the Washington, D.C. mall where a national rally will be occurring.  "The road to Washington is paved with broken hearts!"  August 18th 2007

Promotional Interview Videos will soon be released by Robert and Rob!

Sponsors will be highlighted on our dedicated website for this event!

Power to the Family with Lansing Michigan Tax Rally April 18th, 2007

This coming week there is going to be multiple rallies held in Lansing Michigan on April 18th, 2007. Please read the following message from the Michigan Fair Tax Organization and consider joining the rally with signs of support for giving power back to the family through the restoration of parental rights through Shared Parenting Legislation, Ending CPS Abuse by forcing jury trials with a clear and convincing evidence standard and the adoption of the Michigan Fair Tax. Shared Parenting allows children to be raised by both parents as they truly need, keeping children with their families rather then destroying their life and future without due-process will keep the state from abducting children to feed the foster care system and the Michigan Fair Tax will give individual families the ability to control the amount of taxes they pay and control the state’s use of their hard earned money.

MI FairTaxers,

        1) THEME OF RALLY: TAXPAYER TEABAG PROTEST         (Remember the Boston tea party?)

Our April 18th tax rally will have the tea bag as our theme to draw a parallel to the
Boston tea party that sparked the American Revolution.  Similar to our forefathers, who had to deal with "taxation without representation", we have to contend with "taxation with misrepresentation".   Some politicians tell us that they are going to tax businesses rather than tax individuals, but we are smart enough to know that we pay all businesses taxes when we buy their products.  Our "Tea Party" theme will help educate the public of this big lie/misrepresentation and how we are losing our jobs because
Michigan companies can't compete in the global economy with our tax inflated prices.  This will be the event that sparks the MI FairTax Revolution.

        2) WE HAVE BEEN CHALLENGED BY "TAXSPENDERS"

Last week, a Lansing reporter informed Leon Drolet, former state Rep. and spending watchdog, that a Governor’s staffer had told him that the Gov. was aware of the April 18 Taxpayer Teabag Protest planned at the Capitol - and was preparing a “surprise” for protesters.

What “surprise”?

Turns out that the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) has moved up their lobby day in Lansing to coincide with our Taxpayer Teabag Protest.  They support Granholm’s plan to mandate government preschool for all children. And they are not alone. An organization called “Artserve”, which supports more tax dollars being spent on art, has also changed the day and time of their lobby day to April 18.

It appears those that demand more and more spending and higher taxes will try to outdo us taxpayers that day.  According to the AFT Michigan website, they are planning to bus public school teachers in from around the state.  Ironic: Paid day off for public employees to counter a citizen’s protest against higher taxes.

It is now even more important than ever to spread the word to all taxpayers about the Taxpayer Protest Rally!  Michigan taxpayers need to show up at the Capitol in Lansing on April 18, bring a tea bag that we will deliver to the Governor, and tell Lansing politicians to balance their budget like we citizens have to do and solve the problem for the future by enacting the MI FairTax; NOT BY RAISING TAXES and driving more companies and jobs out of Michigan!  Get to the Capitol around 10:00am. Rally starts at 11:00am, but you will need time to park (or unload your bus).

Tax spenders are planning to hijack this rally, and demand more and more of YOUR money, apparently not concerned with the impact on our jobs and the future of our state.  We cannot allow the voices of everyday taxpayers to be drowned out.  Take the day off work, clear the calendar, gather your family and friends, club members, church members, etc. and organize car pools, van pools or rent busses and head to Lansing on April 18!

We will be jointly sponsoring this rally with Americans For Prosperity and the Michigan Taxpayers Alliance.  It will send a real message when MI FairTaxers show up in huge numbers with "MI FairTax" hand made signs.  The media will be sure to give a lot of coverage to such a large demonstration and will likely put our comments on the air and in print.  Frank Beckman of

Michigan's "flagship" radio station, WJR (AM 760), will be broadcasting from the event.  Other radio and TV stations will likely follow suit.

If the MI FairTax puts enough feet on the capitol steps, the media and the political wonks will recognize that we are a powerful political force to recon with and the MI FairTax "has legs".  They will realize that the MI FairTax will be placed on the ballot so they better cover it and climb aboard the MI FairTax train or be left at a deserted station. Together we will spark the MI FairTax revolution.

More information about the rally is shown below.  For those of you that choose not to receive your MI FairTax messages in digest form a flyer is attached that you can print off and post where others can read about the rally.  Additional information will follow.
